Data Scientist with AI and Data Analytics Expertise

About the Role

As a Data Scientist at Tiimely, you will play a pivotal role in embedding automation and Artificial Intelligence into our platform. You will be responsible for building and solving complex business problems, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams to advise and collaborate on data's potential.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Model Development: Involve in all elements of AI model development lifecycles, from design, data pre-processing, feature engineering, training, testing, and validation to deployment.
• Data Science Techniques: Solve complex business problems using data science techniques and methods.
• Platform Automation: Advocate for platform automation and ethical use of data and Artificial Intelligence.
• Data Capability Promotion: Promote Tiimely’s data capability and drive a culture of value creation with data through robust measurement of outcomes and benefits realization.
• Model Development Standards: Maintain and improve standards and procedures for the model development lifecycle.
• Model Optimization: Build, assess, and optimize models to solve real problems, ensuring understanding of the business domain, interpretability, scalability, maintainability, and overall performance.
• Coding Standards: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following coding standards and practices, ensuring proper documentation.
• ETL Data Pipelines: Build and maintain ETL data pipelines from various sources into an analytics environment suitable for analysis, reporting, and modeling.
• Data Integrity: Measure and advise on data integrity and quality to ensure accurate data and reporting, supporting business processes where required.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Delivery, Tech, Data, and other business stakeholders.
• Integration with Software Engineers: Work with software engineers to integrate data science elements into solution design.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure quality assurance of the team’s work in accordance with team processes.
• Advanced Analysis: Perform advanced analysis to support business decision-making and look for opportunities where automation, modeling, or data can solve business problems more effectively.

Qualifications

• Strong stakeholder management skills across all levels of seniority including excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and inspire the organization to solve complex business problems.
• Experience in one or more analytical programming languages, preferably Python.
• Proficient in SQL and data science frameworks, packages, and tools, including common libraries (e.g., AWS Sagemaker, pandas, transformers, NLTK, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, matplotlib, Jupyter notebooks).
• Strong understanding of big data principles.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Tertiary qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, an Analytical discipline, or equivalent experience are highly desirable.
