Deel is seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Team Lead to join our innovative team. We are looking for a talented individual to lead a small cross-functional team of 6-10 professionals, driving both technical excellence and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Management: Approximately 50% of your role will involve management and leadership responsibilities. You will mentor and provide technical leadership to your team, conduct performance reviews, and drive the team towards excellence.
• Technical Expertise: The remaining 50% of your role will require you to apply your technical skills in application design and web development. You will be involved in all stages of the development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing and production release.
• Collaboration: Work closely with design and product teams to create extraordinary product experiences. Your input will be crucial in crafting web applications that embody accessibility and TDD best practices.
• Innovation: Push boundaries through rapid prototyping and iterative development, always driving innovation. You will design and architect software for distributed systems with high-performance, scalability, and availability demands.

What You Bring

• Expertise in JavaScript Technologies: Proficiency in JavaScript technologies for application design, development, and testing. Our team uses Node.js on the backend and React.js on the frontend.
• TypeScript and RESTful APIs: Strong knowledge of TypeScript and experience developing applications on top of RESTful APIs.
• Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading small teams while being hands-on. You have handled performance review cycles and have experience in hiring and growing a team.
• Passion for User Experience: A true passion for developing user experiences that are nothing short of amazing. You are eager to learn, experiment, and share knowledge with others, driving innovation every step of the way.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Automated unit, functional, and integration tests are your bread and butter. You develop and execute them with ease.
