About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Deel, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team that includes Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA professionals. You will participate in product planning from discovery to deployment, ensuring your input is valued at all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle. Your role will involve collaborating with teams to develop robust new features, APIs, and continuously improve our industry-leading products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and maintain applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, primarily PostgreSQL, and ORM libraries like Sequelize.
- Utilize AWS services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS, and experience with serverless app architecture on AWS.
- Provide expert knowledge and thought leadership in your field.
- Ensure a white-glove experience for our customers with our products.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
- Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript syntax.
- A good understanding of AWS services and serverless computing.
- Ability to advise on best practices and be a thought leader in your field.

- Experience with SaaS products running 24/7 on a major cloud vendor.
- Experience working in distributed teams and thriving in a remote work environment.
- Knowledge of the dynamic world of FinTech.
