Job Overview

Join Federato, a pioneering Series B startup in the insurance technology sector, as a Full Stack Engineer. Based in San Francisco, CA, Federato is revolutionizing the insurance industry with its advanced RiskOps underwriting platform. This platform provides real-time risk selection and portfolio insights, empowering underwriters to make informed decisions and balance their books effectively.

Responsibilities

Develop, design, create, modify, and test software applications or systems for various products.
Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming, and software engineering.
Produce high-quality code with good test coverage using modern abstractions and frameworks.
Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Use good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on schedule by exercising strong judgment and problem solving skills.
Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.
Mentor more junior developers and improve their overall capabilities.
Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and other Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products.
Work with customer empathy to ensure that products and solutions meet their needs.

Requirements

Demonstrated interest in engineering for impact.
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
2+ years of hands-on industry experience in full stack engineering.
Familiarity with event backbone and job pool platforms (Kafka, etc).
Willingness to get hands dirty across a broad variety of internal and client software.
2+ years of experience with React, Typescript, Python (Django) and have built complex backend systems.
Demonstrated ability to pick up new technologies quickly and learn on the spot.
Experience in design and code reviews.
