Join our Data Experience Team at Akamai Technologies, where we operate systems used across the company for log delivery, analytics, and reporting. These systems currently receive over 7PB/day of data and process over 5 trillion records per day. Our code helps to run one of the largest distributed systems in the world.

Role Overview

As a Fullstack Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and integrating backend systems and frontend applications. You will partner with product management, architects, and other engineering teams to build features that allow customers to understand their products and performance. You will solve complex problems in a timely and accurate manner through development, automation, and systems programming. You will work in a cross-functional team where quality and availability are key capabilities shared across all team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate backend systems and frontend applications.
• Partner with product management, architects, and other engineering teams.
• Solve complex problems through development, automation, and systems programming.
• Work in a cross-functional team to ensure quality and availability.

Required Skills

• Proficiency with modern web development practices, including responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
• Experience with building modern backend applications using Java and Node.js.
• Frontend application development experience using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular or similar frontend frameworks.
• Experience building web services using technologies such as REST, Linux/Unix environments, SQL, and/or NoSQL database systems.
• Ability to monitor applications with complex deployment schemes using tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
