About the Role
Join CHECK24, Germany's largest comparison portal, as a Junior Security Software Engineer. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic security team that combines the stability of a large company with the agility of a startup. You will work in an agile environment, contributing to the security and continuity of our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Stack Software Engineering: Develop software projects of varying sizes, focusing on identifying new assets and vulnerabilities. Use different programming languages and implement modern tools after thorough research.
- Vulnerability Management: Utilize existing tools to discover new vulnerabilities in our IT landscape. Communicate these findings to the appropriate stakeholders to ensure quick resolution.
- Penetration Testing: Plan and conduct penetration tests for internal teams and produce concise, impactful reports.
- Consulting & Security Strategy: Advise the company on security matters and help plan the overall security strategy.
What You Bring
- Technical Expertise: Strong programming skills and practical experience in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., PHP, Python, or Go).
- Curiosity and Adaptability: A constant desire to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex technical content clearly. Act as a central point of contact and communicate your ideas to the team and internal customers.
- Responsibility: Contribute to the ongoing development of the security area to continually improve services.
- Secure Systems: Basic understanding of server and code security.
Additional Skills
- Understanding of software architecture.
- Initial experience with bug bounty programs, penetration testing, or vulnerability assessment.
