About The Role
As a Launch Consultant at Shopify, you will play a crucial role in onboarding the largest and fastest-growing merchants with complex commerce needs. Your primary responsibility will be to break down technical barriers and enable our sales, partners, and merchant success teams to accelerate business growth. You will work with high-value, high-complexity merchants, providing them with the resources and guidance needed for a successful launch on Shopify Plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Expert Generalist: Be an expert across the expanding Shopify platform and ecosystem, including Shopify Plus, Partner and App ecosystem, and Shopify POS.
- Mentorship and Best Practices: Share learnings and best practices with the Launch and Professional Services Team, constantly iterating and improving the merchant experience and internal processes.
- Technical Leadership: Demonstrate strong aptitude in stakeholder management, multi-layered solutioning, systems thinking, and navigating complex relationships.
- Consultation: Consult with merchants on novel and complex checkout functionality and integrations.
- Portfolio Management: Manage a complex portfolio of merchants, working with their development and operations teams to design solutions on the platform.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build relationships with adjacent teams within Shopify, including Production Engineering, Solution Engineering, Service Delivery, Sales, Merchant Success, Risk & Legal, and Product teams.
- Travel: Up to 10% of your time will involve traveling for in-person meetings and events, which may include international travel.
Qualifications
- Experience working in an application ecosystem and integrating third-party technologies, ideally into the Shopify platform.
- Familiarity with web development technologies and languages such as HTML, Javascript, CSS, and Shopify Theme/Liquid.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills to support a wide portfolio of merchants.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Agile project management mindset.
- Comfortable working remotely.
Bonus Experience
- Experience with Shopify API (REST and GraphQL).
- Development experience in HTML, CSS, Liquid, Ruby, Javascript.
- Experience delivering paid services to clients in a consulting environment.
- Experience working in a startup environment with a new go-to-market product.
