About the Role
Strava is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI and Machine Learning team. This team is pivotal in building machine learning models that enhance key product experiences on the Strava platform. These models are integral to personalization, recommendation, growth modeling, activity analysis, search, and more.
Responsibilities
- Work at the intersection of AI and fitness to develop product experiences for millions of active users worldwide.
- Lead projects powered by machine learning on the Strava platform, from initial model prototyping to deploying production code.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to explore Strava’s extensive dataset and develop novel machine learning solutions.
- Build and maintain production data pipelines and server-side production code.
- Engage in production dev ops to ensure operational excellence and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in building, deploying, and supporting machine learning models in production at scale.
- Proficiency in exploratory data analysis and model prototyping using Python or R, and tools like Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, PyTorch, and AWS SageMaker.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, EMR, SQL, and Snowflake.
- Strong background in building backend cloud-based services using languages like Ruby, Java, Scala, Python, or Go, and tools like AWS.
