Job Description
Lenovo is seeking a talented NLP / Machine Learning Researcher to join our Research and Development team in Morrisville, North Carolina. This role is pivotal in advancing our capabilities in Large Language Models (LLM) and multi-modality fields, including vision and audio. As a researcher, you will be at the forefront of developing models that are not only innovative but also applicable to real-world scenarios, enhancing Lenovo's future product offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Management: Oversee the end-to-end multi-stage data pipeline, including the design, creation, cleaning, and refinement of SFT and RLHF data for LLM and multi-modality LLM.
- Model Training: Engage in LLM and Computer Vision (CV) model training, ensuring the models meet the highest standards of performance and efficiency.
- Research and Development: Conduct R&D in model distillation, quantization, and other related technologies, focusing on new algorithms and training techniques in the Generative AI field.
- Quantization Techniques: Develop and implement LLM quantization techniques to optimize model performance.
Basic Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, Deepspeed, FSDP, vllm, or llama.cpp.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in ECE, CS, or a related field.
- Experience with CUDA and C++.
Work Environment
This position is based at our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. We support a hybrid work environment, requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. Candidates must be local to Raleigh or willing to relocate independently.
