Fujitsu is seeking a Researcher in Machine Learning to join our Self-Improving ML team in Silicon Valley. This is a unique opportunity to work on pioneering and prototyping general-purpose AI algorithms for vision and text that can autonomously enhance themselves. If you are passionate about exploring profound questions in ML research and are motivated to contribute to deploying general AI systems for a sustainable world, this role is for you.
About the Role
As a researcher, you will:
- Research and Prototype: Develop ML algorithms that automatically improve themselves to tackle a wider range of vision and text tasks.
- Demonstrate Improvements: Show algorithmic improvements in increasingly challenging tasks using less data.
- Publish and Present: Publish research papers in scientific journals and conferences, and present your work at talks, conferences, and workshops.
- Develop Tools and Strategies: Work on deploying research to projects aimed at building a sustainable world.
Essential Requirements
- Ph.D. in a relevant area for the team’s mission.
- Track Record: Demonstrated ability to come up with new ideas or improve existing ones in machine learning, evidenced by publications or projects.
- Research Agenda: Ability to own and pursue a research agenda and carry out long-running projects.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with multiple researchers and deployment teams.
Preferred Requirements
- Interdisciplinary Research: Experience in interdisciplinary research collaborations.
- Research Mentorship: Experience in mentoring research projects.
- High-Performance Implementations: Experience in creating high-performance implementations of deep learning algorithms.
