Job Overview
As an AI Researcher at Cisco, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge AI technologies that enhance the capabilities of models or agents in various strategic areas such as code generation, networking, and human-computer interaction. You will be part of a dynamic AI team, contributing to both basic and applied research projects that address unique challenges in connecting people and devices globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research to advance the field of AI, focusing on improving model capabilities in strategic areas.
- Develop domain-specific foundational representations relevant to networking and other applications.
- Publish research papers, deliver technical talks, and organize workshops to establish thought leadership in the global research community.
- Collaborate with AI experts, networking domain experts, engineers, product managers, and strategists to drive innovation.
Who You’ll Work With
You will join a newly formed AI team as one of the early members, influencing the culture and direction of the team. The team includes AI experts and networking domain experts who collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and strategists.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science or a relevant technical field, or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 3 publications in top AI venues such as ACL, EMNLP, ICLR, ICML, NAACL, NeurIPS.
- Experience with Machine Learning Models (MLMs) and familiarity with frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving research projects in an industry or university lab.
- Interest in combining representation learning with problem-specific properties.
- Experience in building and fine-tuning foundation models, including LLMs and multi-modal models.
- Ability to apply generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and multi-modal models to emerging business problems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills conducive to collaboration.
