Background Information

At ASML, within the defectivity team, we strive to enhance the productivity and customer product yield of our Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) Scanners. We are seeking students who are excited by the challenges of solving performance issues in our unique, high-tech EUV systems. If you enjoy tackling puzzles on a nanometer scale and addressing multidisciplinary problems, this role is for you.

Your Role

As an intern in our group, you will analyze root causes and develop software solutions for particle contamination challenges at the reticle in EUV scanners. You will formulate and verify hypotheses on the transport and deposition of these particles, considering the effects of the EUV-plasma, electrostatics around the reticle, and chemical processes in the scanner. This involves using observations and data from our scanners, as well as conducting experiments and utilizing numerical models.

Your Assignment

• Conduct thorough analysis of feedback and data from EUV scanners of our customers and/or factory.
• Use the analysis as input for root cause finding to solve problems.
• Utilize our Defectivity Database to deliver Factory system qualification data as measured with tools like AMX, Flashscan, and Helios.
• Verify the correctness of data and create dashboards in Spotfire for various internal customers.

Your Profile

To be a perfect match for this internship, you should:

• Be a master's student in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, or a similar field.
• Have knowledge of MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Possess good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

This is a master apprentice or graduation internship with a duration of 6-9 months, requiring a minimum of 4 days a week, starting in September 2024.
