Intern - Electrical Engineering and Software Development

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated intern with a background in Electrical Engineering and an interest in IC design. This multifaceted role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of hardware and software, contributing to both circuit design and software development for our internal platform.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize industry-standard tools like Xschem and Xyce to build feature circuits and run verification simulations.
Transition to software development, recreating circuits in the PRIME* platform.
Identify, report, and assist in fixing issues within the PRIME* platform.
Contribute to backend applications supporting PRIME*.
Document the engineering verification process.
Write and implement integration tests.
Collaborate closely with both software and hardware teams.

Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Strong interest in IC design and software development.
Familiarity with circuit design and simulation concepts.
Basic programming skills, particularly in Python.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Xschem and Xyce or similar tools.
Familiarity with backend software development.
Knowledge of testing and verification processes in software development.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Practicalities

Full-time position.
Excellent location based in Rotterdam. Metrostation Delfshaven is a 2-minute walk to the office.
Hybrid working environment, minimum 3 days/week onsite to build strong team dynamic, focused work from home possible other days.
We have 8 nationalities within our team and 1/3 is female.
Reporting to CEO and/or Head of software engineering.
