Senior Applied Scientist, AWS Marketing AI/ML

Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Applied Scientist to join our central data and science organization for AWS Marketing. This role is pivotal in leading AWS personalization, targeting, and lead prioritization related AI/ML products and initiatives. You will be responsible for developing and owning mechanisms to elevate the science and measurement standards within AWS Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, deployment, and innovation of advanced science models in marketing measurement and optimization.
• Collaborate with scientists, economists, engineers, and product leaders to deconstruct complex business problems into scientific approaches.
• Analyze and mine large datasets, prototype, and implement new learning algorithms and prediction techniques to enhance long-term causal estimation approaches.
• Design, build, and deploy effective and innovative machine learning solutions to improve components of our ML and causal inference pipelines.
• Publish and present your work at internal and external scientific venues in the fields of machine learning and causal inference.
• Influence long-term science initiatives and mentor other scientists across AWS.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• PhD, or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in building models for business applications.
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
• Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, and high-performance computing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Unix/Linux.
• Experience in professional software development.
• Knowledge of architectural concepts and algorithms, schedule tradeoffs, and new opportunities with technical team members.

Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year to $222,200/year, depending on market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits.
