Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with DevOps Experience to join our team remotely. This role is pivotal in the evolution of the MindLogger platform, a tool that empowers clinicians, researchers, and educators to deliver mental health assessments and interventions digitally. You will be responsible for the backend orchestration, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability while delivering new features and capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Own the MindLogger backend technical orchestration, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
- Development: Architect, develop, and maintain efficient backend systems. Manage and scale the backend API, including considerations for security, scale, and compliance with industry standards.
- DevOps Management: Lead existing DevOps engineering to configure, standup, and optimize DevOps infrastructure (CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, etc).
- Problem Solving: Resolve production errors through root cause analysis.
- Mentorship: Mentor and uplift non-technical staff; collaborate with cross-functional teams for tailored feature implementation.
- Communication: Manage internal and external team communication; contribute to future backend and DevOps architectural designs.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years of experience working with a production-level backend, with expertise in Python, AWS, and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
- DevOps: 4+ years of DevOps or infrastructure automation experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Skills: Proficient in cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP), networking, and cybersecurity principles.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency and automation.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with leaders and senior stakeholders.
