Job Overview

As a Senior Web Backend Developer at Tafi, you will lead the development of our web backend systems, ensuring the successful execution of backend initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving innovation in our backend development processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of scalable and robust web backend solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Design and optimize databases for performance and scalability.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance.
• Innovate by modernizing and scaling backend activities in the organization.
• Stay informed of emerging web backend technologies and integrate improvements into our backend systems.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure backend solutions meet product requirements and quality standards.
• Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks to the business emerging from backend engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in web backend development or application delivery.
• Proven ability to oversee the web backend development process from concept to deployment of complex applications.
• Strong understanding of backend development technologies such as App Engine, Golang.
• Experience with database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Datastore, or similar.
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to share knowledge with diverse stakeholders.

Bonus Skills

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline.
• Certifications in: CSPO, CSM, ITIL.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Understanding of security best practices and secure coding principles.
• Experience with microservices architecture.

Working Conditions

• Regular hours, with occasional overtime and flexibility required to meet project deadlines.
• May require sitting or standing for extended periods.
• Occasional travel may be required for company events or meetings.
