Job Description
Are you passionate about engineering big data solutions that elevate transportation models to the next generation? Do you possess strong analytical thinking and metrics-driven decision-making skills? If so, Amazon is looking for top-notch Senior Data Engineers to join our world-class Transportation Business Intelligence team. We are developing real-time analytical platforms using big data tools and AWS technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, EMR, SNS, SQS, Lambda, Kinesis Firehose, and DynamoDB Streams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implementation: Contribute to the design and implementation of next-generation data engineering solutions focused on long-term scalability and low-cost maintenance.
- Data Platform Management: Manage and administer data platforms built on AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, and Lambda.
- Data Quality Monitoring: Implement automated and continuous data quality monitoring mechanisms.
- Tool and Process Improvement: Improve tools, processes, scale existing solutions, and create new solutions as required to meet business needs and growth.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with business leaders, other data engineers, and technical architects to deliver high-quality and highly-performant data pipelines.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of data engineering experience.
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
- Experience mentoring team members on best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR.
- Experience operating large data warehouses.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
