Job Description
As a Data Engineer, you will enable data-driven decision-making within the Amazon Web Services Data Center Infrastructure Operations organization. The Infrastructure Operations Team is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving the global Amazon Data Center infrastructure. This includes supporting all aspects of the Data Center based organizations, such as Safety, Security, maintenance, daily operations, logistics, engineering, and equipment management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the information data lake and utilize insight platforms to enable decision support systems for the organization.
- Work with business owners to understand their data and reporting requirements.
- Build ETLs to ingest data into the data warehouse and data lake, as well as end-user facing reporting applications.
- Support teams within the Infrastructure environment and the broader Amazon Web Services community.
- Define analytics requirements and deliver flexible, scalable, end-to-end solutions.
- Work with big data and emerging technologies to drive business intelligence solutions end-to-end: business requirements, data modeling, ETL, metadata, reporting, and dashboarding.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Proficiency in one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala).
- Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, KornShell).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR.
- Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200/year to $185,000/year. Pay is based on factors including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, offering equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
