Introduction
IBM is seeking skilled back-end developers to join our software team in Prague. As a Senior Java Back-End Developer, you will be pivotal in developing and maintaining high-quality software products, focusing on robust data governance solutions. This role involves enhancing the transparency of data pipelines across large enterprises by advancing IBM® Manta Data Lineage.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features and optimize existing code to ensure high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with a diverse team including developers, designers, architects, QA engineers, and product managers to meet user needs.
- Engage in continuous integration and delivery using tools like Jenkins and GitHub.
- Support L2 teams in debugging and handling customer issues.
- Maintain and create technical documentation as required.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Proven experience with Java, Spring Boot, J2EE, and microservices architecture.
- Strong skills in building RESTful APIs and familiarity with CI&CD practices.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience in a corporate software development environment.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, BI tools, ETL tools, and data governance solutions is advantageous.
- Experience in production software support and L3 support is beneficial.
