Job Overview
IBM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our team in Lowell, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about learning and has a special interest in SQL/Query and/or MDX/XMLA/OLAP data sources. The successful candidate will be well-versed in agile methodologies and have experience delivering enterprise-scale products.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver new functionalities and maintain existing capabilities for IBM analytics products.
- Integrate applications with relational databases and/or OLAP data sources.
- Lead the development of features in a large matrix environment.
- Troubleshoot and solve customer issues on production deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 7+ years of software development experience in a professional environment.
- Proficiency in Java.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and/or MDX/XMLA.
- Experience with relational databases, OLAP, and/or query planning.
- Exposure to agile development, continuous integration, and continuous development environments (CI/CD) with tools such as GitHub, JIRA, Jenkins, etc.
- Familiarity with tools like SSH clients and Docker.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience integrating Business Intelligence tools with SAP/BW, SAP/BW4HANA, and other OLAP technologies.
- Experience as a BI product developer.
- Experience defining SAP/BW and BW4HANA test assets to ensure high code coverage and tight integration.
- Experience with the full lifecycle of SAP/BW and BW4HANA assets, including cube upgrades and server support.
