Job Description
Verum Artes is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team in the Amersfoort region, working within the public sector. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing critical tax applications within a scrum team, creating new functionalities, optimizing systems, and contributing to the modernization of the IT landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement New Features: Work on the development and implementation of new features for our applications.
- Optimize Existing Functionality: Resolve incidents and optimize existing functionalities to improve performance and user experience.
- Application Design and Architecture: Advise on and contribute to the design and architecture of applications.
- Support Testing: Assist testers in executing and improving automated tests.
- Collaborate in Scrum Team: Work closely within the scrum team to achieve goals in bi-weekly sprints and bring solutions to production.

Required Qualifications
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in Dutch, both spoken and written.
- Educational Background: HBO level of work and thinking, demonstrated through education and work experience.
- Technical Expertise: At least 5 years of experience with Java, JEE, and platforms like OpenShift and Tekton.
- DevOps Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience with DevOps methodologies.
- Agile/Scrum Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and developing SOAP/REST web services.
- Technical Tools: Extensive experience with Java versions, GIT, Jenkins, Spring, JPA, SQL, and front-end technologies such as HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
- Testing: Experience with JUNIT.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Tools: Knowledge of Wicket, Robot Framework, and tools within the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
- Database and Server Experience: Experience with DB2, MQ, WebSphere Application Server, and working in Eclipse/IntelliJ.
- Java Development Standards: Insight into the regulations of the Java Development Street.
