We test over 2000 products and services annually, and we are looking for a Java Developer to join our team and contribute to our mission of building a fair and safe market for all consumers in the Netherlands.
What You'll Do
As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing new functionalities and maintaining existing ones, such as our product comparison tool and membership login features. You will participate in projects providing technical advice and support, and work on improving the quality of our website. Your role will involve proposing improvements to current software and collaborating with the business and development teams.
Your Team
You will be part of the Technology & Development guild, a dynamic and versatile group focused on enhancing Consumentenbond's products and services daily. As a Java Developer, you will ensure software quality from development to production, working within a dedicated scrum team responsible for the development and management of our website and other online applications. This team includes developers, designers, a scrum master, and a product owner.

Who We Are Looking For
We seek a self-starter who thrives in a culture that values independence and proactivity. Our core values—entrepreneurial, collaborative, and honest—should resonate with you. You should have:
- HBO work and thinking level with at least 3 years of experience as a Java Developer.
- Experience with Java, Spring Framework, Maven, Tomcat, and REST/SOAP web services.
- Knowledge of Hibernate, relational databases, unit testing, and CMS is a plus, as is familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Hippo/Bloomreach, and Elastic search.
- Experience working with complex, content-driven websites and environments with multiple scrum teams.
- Analytical skills to identify and solve problems.
