JavaScript Developer (m/f/d) for Smart TV and Streaming Media

Introduction

We're looking for a passionate JavaScript Developer who will join us to build the best video player experience that users use on a daily basis. You will have the possibility of developing a high-quality product to satisfy our customers' needs. We currently work with JavaScript, TypeScript and Shaka Player, however we value the ability to adapt with changing technology.

Workplace Model

In this position, you work within our hybrid model “Highly Remote”. You can work mostly remote within Germany. The contractually agreed place of work will be Unterföhring near Munich or Berlin. Possible travel costs to the place of work will not be reimbursed.

What You Can Expect In This Role

• Ship new and exciting features to our new video player running on SmartTVs and optimize the video Player's performance to ensure a smooth experience for all our users
• Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of software engineers, QA testers, and product managers within an agile environment
• Tackle technological challenges, embracing opportunities for learning and growth with a sense of ownership
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of our processes and tech stack within our DevOps culture, always prioritizing technical excellence for our users
• Engage fully in the agile software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, crafting highly available solutions that reach millions

Your Essential Experience And Education

• You have proven expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript development, including testing and debugging skills
• Media Source Extensions (MSE) and Encrypted Media Extensions (EME) are no foreign words to you, and you are familiar with the Shaka player
• You have knowledge of streaming protocols such as HLS and DASH, experience with video streaming technologies would be a valuable asset
• You have a collaborative spirit, with a passion for excellence and a drive to deliver outstanding results
• Ideally, you have experience with Smart TV application development and knowledge of its unique challenges
• Fluent in written and spoken English, German is a plus
