About the Team

The International Markets product development team is primarily responsible for defining the experience for international buyers and sellers, making eBay a truly global shopping destination. We are an inclusive team made up of 19 nationalities, and how we do things as a team is just as important as what we do. As part of the global Core Product organization, our focus extends beyond international markets’ needs. We often collaborate with other teams to solve high-impact customer experiences across the business. We are on a mission to not only improve eBay customer experience but also its technology and agile adoption.

Your Role

As a Frontend Software Engineer, you will:

• Build high availability, scalable, extensible frontend applications with delightful user experiences using JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Marko.
• Focus on test-driven, clean code, and automatically tested, continuously deployed applications.
• Engage in pair programming with backend, frontend, and native engineers.
• Be open to picking up new languages and frameworks and coming up to speed on various existing eBay technologies.
• Explore and contribute to other teams’ codebases.
• Proactively identify technical weaknesses and drive resolutions.
• Break down requirements and communicate effectively with PMs and other stakeholders.
• Discuss the merits of different technologies and share your views with other engineers to elevate eBay’s engineering culture.

What You Will Accomplish

• Help define the user experience of international buyers and sellers across 200 countries worth billions of dollars.
• Solve customer problems horizontally and completely across eBay experiences and platforms.
• Advocate for inner-source and contribute to all codebases at eBay.
• Influence and drive eBay tech and best practices forward.
