Bloomberg’s Engineering AI department is at the forefront of developing innovative AI-driven solutions. With over 300 AI practitioners, we are committed to building products and features that leverage cutting-edge technologies such as transformers, large language models (LLMs), and dense vector databases. We are expanding our team and seeking a Senior LLM Engineer to contribute to our mission of enhancing AI capabilities in our products.
Your Role
As a Senior LLM Engineer, you will:
- Build Production Systems: Develop and optimize LLM systems to enhance business functions within the Bloomberg Terminal.
- Optimize Workloads: Support LLM workloads in both on-premises HPC and cloud environments.
- Contribute to R&D: Engage in internal initiatives related to LLM research and development.
- Utilize Specialized Hardware: Work with hardware designed for tensor computations to improve performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 4+ years of programming experience with object-oriented languages.
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Skills: Proficiency in Python, understanding of ML model architectures, especially transformers, and experience in profiling and optimizing ML applications.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with HPC platforms, ML accelerators (e.g., NVIDIA GPUs), and cloud infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, GCP).
