Picnic Technologies is revolutionizing the way people buy groceries with our affordable and sustainable app-only service. We are looking for a passionate Senior React Native Engineer to join our diverse team at our Amsterdam HQ and make a real difference in our scale-up environment.

About the Role

As a Senior React Native Engineer, you will work with both React and React Native to build a platform that streamlines operations and enhances the user experience for both employees and managers. Our product suite includes React Native mobile apps and React web-based admin consoles, delivering comprehensive tools for managing schedules, tasks, and internal communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Dive into both React and React Native codebases, ensuring consistency and quality across our web and mobile applications.
• Identify opportunities to enhance user experience and optimize workflows in the development process.
• Work closely with designers, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications and intuitive user experiences.

Technologies We Use

• Languages & Frameworks: TypeScript, React, React Native
• State Management: Redux, Redux-Observables, RTK Query
• Styling: Styled Components, MUI
• Testing & Tools: Jest, Storybook, Loki
• Data Management: GraphQL

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in developing React (Native) apps.
• Hands-on experience with (unit) testing.
• Experience with Android and/or iOS is a plus.
• A problem-solving mindset and the confidence to transform high-level business requirements into a technical plan.
• Experience working in a product-based company.
• The ability to coach fellow developers using a structured communication style.
• Fluency in English (Dutch not required).
• Bonus points for open source contributions to the React Native framework.
