Picnic Technologies is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Python Engineer to join our dynamic team in Amsterdam. As a Senior Python Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our cutting-edge software solutions that power the world's fastest-growing online supermarket.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and evolving software libraries and applications that are integral to our operations. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to create high-quality, scalable, and reliable code that supports our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Take ownership of projects and manage their entire life cycles, from design to deployment.
- Software Development: Design, develop, and test software for our platform, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and reusable.
- Collaboration: Work closely with analysts and other engineers to address engineering challenges and questions.
- Feature Development: Develop new features and improve the scalability and security of our Python systems.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering practices.
Who You Are
- You have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- You possess outstanding Python skills with at least 5 years of professional experience.
- You have experience with Docker and a good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- You are comfortable building microservices and have experience with NoSQL solutions like MongoDB and RabbitMQ.
- You are familiar with software versioning (git), test suites, technical documentation, and continuous integration and deployment.
- Bonus points for cloud and Kubernetes skills.
