Job Description
Mapbox is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join our Search Android SDK team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and refining our Android product offerings. You will be at the forefront of helping customers leverage our search services via our mobile SDK and expanding into an emerging product offering of delivery intelligence, perfecting the arrival experience at every address globally.
What You'll Do
- Support and Extend the Mapbox Android Search SDK: Work on both online and offline search capabilities.
- Innovate in Delivery Intelligence: Be on the cutting edge of an emerging product offering.
- Design and Implement Mobile SDK Features: Follow and establish best practices for deployment, resilience, and observability.
- Participate in End-to-End Feature Implementation: Engage in code and design reviews, shepherd feature releases, and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Evaluate Quality and Reliability: Assess the capacity requirements of our user-facing search products and become a well-rounded owner of what you deliver.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Sales Engineering: Drive future product direction.
- Mentor Other Engineers: Develop all aspects of their engineering skill sets, including participating in design and code reviews.

- 4+ Years of Industry Experience: Strong background in Android Development.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.
- Automated Testing and Unit Tests: Experience in implementing testing platforms.
- Proficient in Code Versioning Tools: Such as Git.
