Scout AI is an early-stage tech startup based in the San Francisco Bay Area, focused on revolutionizing the hiring and upskilling process through AI-driven solutions. Our mission is to enhance the global skill level by bridging the gap between education, interviewing, and hiring. We are a small team, led by Christian Arredondo and Daniel Hernandez, with several paying customers and recent pre-seed funding from top investors.
Job Description
We are seeking a Software Engineer Intern/Co-op to join our team for the Fall and Winter period of 2024. This role is ideal for college students or recent graduates who are eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and build the core product, platform, and systems using a web SaaS model.
- Support other areas of the company by developing internal tools.
- Track key product and company/candidate network metrics.
- Collaborate with sales and community teams to gather feedback and brainstorm new ideas.
A Day in the Life
- Design and build new core components or systems of the product.
- Monitor and maintain existing processes and tools.
- Engage with feedback from sales or community teams to innovate and improve.

First 30 Days
- Ramp up on Scout AI’s context, including learnings, domain, goals, and technology.
- Work closely with the leadership team to understand project goals.
- Ship your first few features and support the company in acquiring and retaining customers.
Qualifications
- Currently studying or recently graduated from a technical program (CS, engineering, math, etc.).
- Strong technical and programming skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience or interest in the education, community, or recruiting space.
- Preferred: Experience with ML/AI, even if through personal projects.
- Must have authorization to work in the country of residence (no visa sponsorship available).

Location and Compensation
- Location: On-site in San Francisco Bay Area, CA, US, with remote options available for candidates in the Americas (US, Canada, LATAM).
