About the Role
Scout AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to join our partner company, Caldera, which is actively hiring. Caldera is focused on enabling dynamic, scalable blockchain experiences by building software that allows innovative blockchain applications to launch their own high-performance blockchains, known as rollups. This role is based in New York, NY, and offers a competitive salary, equity, and full benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and Develop Backend Systems: Ensure the smooth operation of Caldera’s blockchains by building secure and scalable crypto-native systems on EVM blockchains, such as indexers or relayers.
- Feature Ownership: Take ownership of new features from conception through to deployment for Caldera’s self-serve infrastructure platform.
- Data Model Design: Lead the design of data models, ensuring databases are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Performance Tuning: Engage in performance tuning and optimization efforts, profiling systems to reduce latency and increase throughput.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship, offering high-quality feedback and code reviews for junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years of engineering experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in writing backend services in Go or TypeScript, designing and maintaining robust APIs, and designing efficient and scalable data models.
- Cloud Computing: Strong background with cloud computing platforms, especially AWS.
- Security: Keen eye for security with a solid understanding of threat modeling and secure system architecture.
Bonus Points
- Experience with modern infrastructure, including containerization, infrastructure as code, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with blockchain technologies, particularly Ethereum and Bitcoin.
- Understanding of cryptography primitives, such as hash functions or digital signatures.
- Experience building Ethereum dapps.
