Role Description
As a Software Engineer at Opto, you will tackle complex business problems with elegant and pragmatic engineering solutions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of engineering problems and solutions, working closely with teammates and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software projects on agreed timelines.
You will actively participate in all phases of product development, from specification through implementation, QA testing, deployment, and operations. Your role will also involve fostering a collaborative culture by engaging in discussions, documentation, and code reviews.

Qualifications
- 4-year technical degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of software development experience.
- Experience using React to build feature-rich user interfaces.
- Deep understanding of JavaScript fundamentals.
- Experience with automated frontend testing patterns such as Jest / Playwright.
- Demonstrated background or interest in investment management.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to execute in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Excellent communication skills and grace under pressure.
Compensation and Benefits
Opto offers a competitive compensation package, including significant equity, health, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited PTO, a retirement savings plan, and various stipends. The salary range for this role is $125,000-$225,000, dependent on skills, experience, and expected contribution.
