Role Summary
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Money Movement team at Square, you will be at the forefront of developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure that supports Square Banking. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining services responsible for moving billions of dollars. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and other teams to architect reusable, well-tested, and forward-thinking features. Your work will ensure operational excellence, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop services for tracking and moving financial transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of new features.
- Lead the entire lifecycle of your features, from design to deployment.
- Promote engineering best practices and contribute to the technical roadmap of the team.
- Mentor and uplevel the skills of team members.
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in Java or Kotlin.
- Experience in designing and productionizing large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
