AI Engineer II at Rocket Lab
Location: Long Beach, CA
Rocket Lab is seeking an AI Engineer II to join our dynamic team at our global headquarters in Long Beach, CA. As a key member of the BI & Data Science team, you will explore, identify opportunities, and deliver AI solutions that drive innovation and efficiency across various domains including space systems, engineering, production, supply chain, and finance/accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- AI Implementation: Lead strategic AI implementation to optimize business processes and gain a competitive edge.
- Data Analysis: Establish Gen AI capabilities for structured and unstructured data analysis using LLMs (e.g., GPT 4o, Llama) and vector databases.
- AI Strategy: Serve as an AI strategist and subject matter expert, working closely with business teams to identify AI use cases.
- Innovation: Keep updated with the latest LLM developments and industry trends, recommending advancements to leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years with Java/Python, R, and SQL. 1+ years in AI with leading LLMs like GPT 4x or Llama.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (6+ years total).
- Skills: Proficiency with vector databases, RAG architecture, data mining, mathematics, or statistical analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- 1+ year of Azure Cloud experience.
- Experience with advanced analytics libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn.
Additional Requirements
- Must be physically able to commute to buildings and occasionally exposed to dust, fumes, and moderate noise levels.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
