Applied AI Engineer, Associate

About the Role

Join BlackRock as an Applied AI Engineer, Associate and be part of a team that is at the forefront of financial technology innovation. You will work within the AI Platform team, contributing to the development of BlackRock's Aladdin platform, a leading investment management technology.

Responsibilities

• Design and Build: Develop the next generation of investment management technology, focusing on investment lifecycle processes and research.
• Machine Learning Models: Design and deploy advanced machine learning models to enhance platform capabilities.
• AI/ML Infrastructure: Leverage and build AI/ML infrastructure to develop new platform services.
• Integration: Integrate new AI services across the platform and Aladdin application ecosystem.
• Technical Design: Refine business and functional requirements into scalable technical designs.
• Collaboration: Work with product engineering teams to implement comprehensive AI/ML-based solutions.
• Software Engineering: Apply quality software engineering practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Optimization: Optimize software delivery and workflow within a multi-office, multi-country environment.

Requirements

• Education: B.S./M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: 2-4 years of proven experience in software engineering or equivalent experience.
• Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming with Java and Python.
• API and Microservices: Experience in designing and building scalable APIs and Microservices.
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
• NoSQL Datastores: Experience with NoSQL datastores like Cassandra.
• Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Event-Driven Architecture: Familiarity with messaging frameworks like Kafka.
• Agile Development: Experience working in Agile development teams.

Nice to Have

• Prompt Engineering: Understanding of prompt engineering and prompt tuning.
• LLM Frameworks: Experience with frameworks like LangChain, Llama Index, and Semantic Kernel.
• Vector Databases: Experience with vector databases like Faiss or Chroma.
• MLOps: Familiarity with MLOps and ML model lifecycle pipelines.

Work Environment
