About the Role

Lockheed Martin's Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Artificial Intelligence (AI) team is seeking passionate interns for summer 2024. This role is perfect for those interested in a broad range of projects, from research and development to prototype development, culminating in the deployment of our products to customers. We are at the forefront of integrating AI into defense systems, delivered through our AI Factory in partnership with our lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in creative machine learning (ML) work.
• Participate in software development and containerization.
• Integrate display and database systems.
• Work in high-performance computing environments.
• Collaborate with peer engineering organizations and chief engineer offices.
• Focus on customer-centric work and deployment to the edge.
• Work closely with a dedicated team.

Location

This role is based in Manassas, VA, with telecommuting flexibility depending on program needs. Other potential locations include Colorado Springs, CO, Moorestown, PA, or Syracuse, NY.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Information Sciences and Technology, or a related STEM field from an accredited college.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Desired Skills

• Prior coursework in computer science, data science, and/or machine learning.
• Beginner experience with Python, CUDA, and DevSecOps.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

• Workplace Type: Hybrid (on-site and off-site work)
• Work Schedule: 4x10 hour days, 3 days off per week
• Security Clearance: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
