RTX is seeking a highly motivated Senior Machine Learning Researcher to join our Advanced Learning and Analytics team. This team is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge machine learning, computer vision, reinforcement learning, and human-computer interaction solutions for high-impact real-world problems in the aerospace, manufacturing, and defense industries.
About the Role
As a Senior Machine Learning Researcher, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of experts working on groundbreaking innovations. You will have the opportunity to conduct both basic and applied research in a stimulating environment where scientists, engineers, and subject matter experts collaborate and exchange experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop novel machine learning approaches for multi-modal data.
- Lead and execute applied research projects, serving as a hands-on technical lead.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in machine learning and champion new ideas.
- Collaborate with universities, government agencies, and national labs.
- Provide detailed presentations and document findings for internal and external audiences.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in various machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Strong research credentials with publications in leading ML conferences/journals.
- Ability to formulate engineering problems as ML problems and identify candidate ML approaches.
- Broad understanding of ML approaches and mathematical aptitude.
Preferred:
- U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations.
- Strong mathematical background in statistics and linear algebra.
- Experience with large language models, multi-modal foundation models, and reinforcement learning.
- Strong publication record in top-tier conferences like CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML.
Education
- Required: B.Sc. in Computer Science, Robotics, or related quantitative field.
- Preferred: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, or related quantitative field.
