About the Role

Meta is seeking a passionate and driven Research Scientist Intern to join our AI Core Machine Learning team. This internship is an excellent opportunity for PhD students who are eager to make significant contributions to the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Responsibilities

• Develop state-of-the-art algorithms and systems using deep learning techniques.
• Analyze and improve algorithmic efficiency, scalability, stability, fairness, security, and privacy.
• Conduct cutting-edge research to advance machine learning and AI technologies.
• Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional teams to communicate research plans, progress, and results.
• Publish research findings and contribute to Meta's product development.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, C, or Java.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Preferred Qualifications

• Intent to return to a degree program after the internship.
• Proven track record of significant research contributions, including publications in leading conferences.
• Experience in building large-scale machine learning systems and handling large datasets.
• Strong communication skills for conveying complex research in a clear and actionable manner.
• Experience in software engineering through internships, work experience, or open-source contributions.

Internship Details

• Duration: 12 to 24 weeks with various start dates throughout the year.
• Location: Menlo Park, California, United States.

Compensation

• Monthly salary: $7,500 to $11,333
