Job Description
The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team at Amazon is seeking a passionate and talented Applied Science Manager with a strong background in deep learning to lead the development of cutting-edge technology in multimodal systems.
Key Responsibilities
As an Applied Science Manager with the AGI team, you will:
- Lead the development of novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state of the art in multimodal systems.
- Directly impact our customers by developing products and services that utilize vision and language technology.
- Leverage Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate development with multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in Computer Vision.
About The Team
The AGI team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of multimodal LLMs and GenAI in Computer Vision to provide the best possible experience for our customers.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing scientists or machine learning engineers.
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
- PhD, or Master's degree with 5+ years of applied research experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience leading scientist teams.
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
- Experience with popular deep learning frameworks, including PyTorch.
- Experience with learning multimodal LLMs and GenAI in Computer Vision, both in the image and video domains.

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $286,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
