Katanox is a B2B SaaS marketplace revolutionizing the hospitality industry with a distribution and fintech platform. We connect travel buyers and accommodation suppliers through a single platform, offering two-way connectivity, direct partnership contracting, and a proprietary fintech stack. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Backend Engineer to join our dynamic development team.
About the Role
As a Backend Engineer, you will be part of a team that is solving big problems in the hospitality industry. You will collaborate with your teammates to design, develop, and maintain high-quality solutions. You will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams in technical investigations and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share learning. You will also contribute to team meetings, offering insights and suggestions for improvement, and deploy code to production, monitoring and solving any problems.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Collaborate with your teammates to design, develop, and maintain high-quality solutions.
- Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams in technical investigations.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share learning.
- Contribute to team meetings, offering insights and suggestions for improvement.
- Deploy code to production, monitor and solve any problems. In other words, own your code.
About You
- You have at least 1 year of professional experience with a JVM language, preferably Kotlin or Java.
- You are able to write well-defined unit/integration tests.
- You have a high sense of quality code and community best practices.
- You understand data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Fluency in English is required.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Spring Boot with either Gradle or Maven.
- Knowledge of any database querying tool like jOOQ.
- Experience working with AWS.
- Experience with B2B marketplace products.
