About the Role
Join Fastned as a Senior Backend Engineer and be a part of a pioneering team in the electric vehicle charging industry. You will contribute to the seamless operation, integration, and management of our charging infrastructure by implementing and managing communication and operational protocols. Your expertise in Kotlin, Spring Boot (Micro Services), AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, SQL, Gitlab CI/CD, and Rest APIs will be crucial in creating scalable high-availability services that ensure our customers can charge at any time.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage the communication and operational protocols to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our charging system.
- Work closely with senior engineers to define feature requirements and deliver a product that materially impacts the business and improves the customer experience.
- Participate in sprint planning, agree on technical direction, and oversee technical development from ideation to deployment.
- Assist the team in improving development methodologies and applying best practice patterns.
Who We Are Looking For
- Highly entrepreneurial mindset with a 'Think like a founder' attitude.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.
- 3+ years of professional experience with Kotlin and/or Java.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Maven, Spring Boot, and Postgres is a plus.
- Experience in building microservices using RESTful web services.
- Strong affinity with the energy transition and Fastned’s mission.
