About the Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Bitvavo, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing low-latency, high-throughput services that enhance our user experience. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and Staff Engineer to tackle complex technical challenges and ensure optimal performance across our systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to develop high-performance backend services.
- Dive into technical challenges and build solutions that ensure peak performance.
- Participate in pivotal decisions regarding technology stacks and architecture.
- Engage in operational rotations to manage and resolve incidents in our production environment.
Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of development experience with a strong grasp of low-level JVM & OS concepts.
- Proficient in Kotlin and familiar with programming design patterns and principles.
- Experience with network protocols such as TCP and UDP.
- Familiarity with libraries such as Aeron and/or Chronicle Queue.
- Experience with event-driven microservices using Kafka.
- Knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem and cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
