Business Unit Introduction

Our Technology Services Division (TSD) is at the forefront of Rakuten's AI and Data initiatives, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the user experience and operational efficiency across our diverse portfolio. We are dedicated to developing cutting-edge services in areas such as Search, Recommendation, Advertising and Marketing Optimization, Inventory and Price Optimization, Data and Analytics, Conversation AI, and Rakuten AI for Business. Key Responsibilities

• Develop predictive models on large-scale datasets to address various business problems with statistical modeling, machine learning, and analytics techniques.
• Develop and implement scalable, efficient, and interpretable modeling algorithms that can work with large-scale data in production systems.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering groups to develop new products and features.
• Assist in testing and validating AI model performance and addressing any issues or bottlenecks in the software.

• Good understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, or data analytics concepts.
• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, and C.
• Familiar with one or more machine learning or statistical modeling tools.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability, and conceptual skills.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, collaboration skills and is a team player.
• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Minimum Requirements

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field.
