Rakuten Kobo Inc. is seeking a Senior JavaScript Engineer for a 7-month contract to join our Rendering team in Berlin. This role is pivotal in enhancing the robustness, performance, and stability of our frontend clients through innovative rendering engine strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategies for building efficient rendering engines for electronic publications (EPub).
- Innovate and improve rendering engines.
- Coordinate with client teams to specify requirements.
- Support and educate junior developers.
- Collaborate with Product Management to align with the product roadmap and timelines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and React.js.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Webpack.
- Extensive experience in software development within an agile environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Bonus Points
- Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with automated test framework design.
