Job Description
Join Visa's Internship Program and be part of the Revolution of Payments Innovation. As a Data Science Intern, you will engage in meaningful work, gain executive exposure, and participate in problem-solving activities. This internship is a great opportunity to innovate, collaborate, and drive Visa into the next era of digital payments.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Data Science team, a key part of Visa's decision management engine.
- Collaborate with data scientists, data analysts, statisticians, and business analysts.
- Serve major financial institutions and merchants in the Asia Pacific region.
- Handle large data sets using quantitative techniques.
- Build complex statistical models that learn from big data.
- Develop cutting-edge, creative, and advanced analytic solutions and processes.
Qualifications
- Penultimate year undergraduate or postgraduate students.
- Available to work full-time for 10-12 weeks between November 2024 and February 2025.
- Legal authorization to work in Australia (Visa will not sponsor work visas).
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related STEM/quantitative field.
- Proficient in database tools such as Hadoop/HIVE/SQL and programming languages like Python/PySpark.
- Experience in delivering analytics solutions using Machine Learning frameworks.
- Experience with visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Intellectual curiosity and a drive to continually learn.
- Preferred experience in the banking and payment industry.
