Job Overview
Join Google Cloud as a Data Scientist in the Supply Chain and Operations team. This role is based in New York, NY, and focuses on improving efficiency through applied machine learning, statistical and simulation modeling, and prescriptive insights. You will work on projects that enhance user satisfaction, elevate measurement capabilities, and improve key business metrics.
Responsibilities
- Data Management: Own the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data across sources using tools like SQL, R, and Python. Ensure data quality and readiness for analysis.
- Modeling Expertise: Serve as a subject-matter expert in Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI (GenAI) within the Cloud Supply Chain Operations organization.
- Research and Application: Research and apply the latest GenAI technologies to supply chain and operations use cases.
- Model Development: Develop machine learning, statistical, and optimization models to improve supply chain and operations efficiency, focusing on forecasting and classification.
- Problem Solving: Use custom data infrastructure or existing data models to design and evaluate models that solve defined problems with limited precedent.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, including coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases, or statistical analysis.
- 1 year of experience in generative AI and machine learning.
- Experience with large language models (LLMs).
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD degree.
- 5 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems.
Salary and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $127,000-$187,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary is determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay based on work location and additional factors such as skills, experience, and education.
