About the Role
Join Datadog as a Senior Data Scientist focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team that leverages advanced generative AI technologies to enhance the Datadog application. Your work will involve fine-tuning, training, and deploying LLMs to create impactful features that help users understand their data and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Deploy LLMs: Work on large-scale distributed fine-tuning and training infrastructure, deploying LLMs on GPU instances for real-time applications.
- Collaborate with Experts: Partner with AI specialists and scientists to design and deploy crucial services and envision future capabilities.
- Innovate with AI: Create new product features using advanced machine learning algorithms, LLMs, and statistical techniques.
- Research and Development: Participate in our journal club, reading and presenting the latest research papers in LLMs and Generative AI.
- Maintain Systems: Develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain LLM models and services, participating in the team’s on-call rotation.
Who You Are
- Educational Background: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Proficient with Language Models, NLP, large-scale systems, deep learning, and data sets. Experience with distributed training and inference frameworks, and ML development frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Technical Skills: Ability to write production data pipelines and applications. Experience with CUDA is a plus.
- Communication: Capable of explaining complex models and ideas to non-technical personnel.
- Passion for AI: Enthusiastic about Generative AI and contributing to user-facing products.
