About the Role
We are seeking a talented freelance Frontend Developer to join us for an upcoming digital project. You will work alongside a group of dedicated and multi-disciplined technologists and designers to bring high-quality solutions to market. We count on our developers to write elegant and well-documented code, with a strict eye towards separation of concerns and maintainability. Our developers are creatives; we expect an eye for design, collaboration on interactions, and understanding of overall user experience when building our software.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality frontend code using HTML, modern JavaScript (JS6+), and CSS, including layout techniques such as Flexbox and Grid.
- Utilize Eleventy (11ty) or other static site generators (SSG) for project development.
- Create reusable, encapsulated UI elements using Web Components and Lit.
- Build responsive UIs with Tailwind CSS, customizing configurations and extending with custom utilities as needed.
- Use Git/Gerrit for version control, handling merges, branching, and code reviews.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional frontend development experience, ideally within a creative digital agency.
- Proficiency in HTML, modern JavaScript, and CSS.
- Experience with Eleventy (11ty) or similar static site generators.
- Understanding of Web Components and proficiency with Lit.
- Proficiency in using Tailwind CSS.
- Experience with Git/Gerrit for version control.
Bonus Skills
- Understanding of build tools and bundling strategies to optimize code performance.
- Knowledge of CSS animations or JavaScript animation libraries like Framer.
- Experience with pre-rendering, image optimization, and other performance techniques for static sites.
- Basic understanding of Python for front-end developers, such as integrating with APIs or working with backend templates.
