Full Stack Developer with Python and React
Hudson River Trading is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team in Chicago, Illinois. As a Full Stack Developer, you will play a crucial role in automating and developing a variety of web-based systems with a Python backend, including our post-trade and middle office systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Automate Systems: You will be responsible for building new web-based tools that provide insights and enable real-time actions using financial data, operational data, trading activity, and more.
- Architect and Design Enhancements: Work on enhancing our global web-based systems, primarily using Python and React.
- Project Management: Own projects from inception to completion, including gathering and refining requirements, forming and executing a structured plan, and managing ongoing support and iterations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various teams such as Algo, Business Development, Middle Office, and Trading Tech to understand end-user needs and communicate effectively about project feasibility and timelines.
- Maintain and Improve Infrastructure: Maintain and improve existing internal and external processes and infrastructure, providing guidance on a large variety of data sources.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years of working experience in Python programming and JavaScript/TypeScript on a modern web framework (React preferred).
- Skills: Effective verbal and written communication, excellent multitasking and time management skills, and the ability to navigate large interconnected projects with close attention to detail.
- Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members.
- Problem Solving: Ability to look at code, figure out how it works, and identify how to make it better.
