About the Role

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with the web team. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with software coding and design, learning the codebase, implementing unit tests, fixing bugs, and developing new features. You will write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the web team to assist in all functions of software coding and design.
Learn the codebase and contribute to the development of unit tests, bug fixes, and new features.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Debug and resolve software defects and issues promptly.
Understand system functions end-to-end and contribute to building or improving any part of our platform.
Encourage innovation, the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and teamwork.
Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and peers to gather requirements and provide project updates.
Collaborate with the product team in a domain-driven, cross-functional team setup.
Ship code regularly and make an impact on our customers’ experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of experience working as a software engineer.
Basic understanding of full-stack development.
Experience in web development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
Experience with APIs and third-party integrations.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies or platforms.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
Knowledge of Shopify is a plus.
