Rent The Runway's European Technology Hub is located in Galway, Ireland. This office plays a crucial role in the company's technology development, focusing on software engineering, product development, machine learning engineering, and data science. The Galway team is integral to tackling core technology challenges and influencing the next generation of services critical to Rent The Runway’s success.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at Rent The Runway, you will be part of a dynamic engineering team that practices continuous integration, test-driven development, and engages in constant peer code reviews and pair programming. You will work on both new product features and technical enhancements, contributing to the company's homegrown Warehouse Management System.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment of microservices to Google Cloud Platform.
• Find architectural and internal design improvements to enhance the performance of key product features.
• Develop clean, testable, scalable systems using technologies such as Java, ReactJS, Redis, JavaScript, RabbitMQ, MySQL, MongoDB, Kotlin, SpringBoot, and Splunk.
• Deliver software on a sustainable schedule that maintains work-life balance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify software solutions to business challenges.
• Work as part of a cross-functional development team.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with professional experience in OOP concepts and design patterns using Java and JavaScript (ReactJS).
• Experience in shipping multiple large, complex software projects.
• Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
• Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
